Shaheed Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto
Shaheed Zulfikar Ali Bhutto while talking to a group of students belonging to various educational institutions of Lahore on Oct 6, 1972 said, “It is my great ambition of life to see Pakistan emerges as a truly independent and strong country in the comity of nations. Students to throw away lethargy and should work harder than before. Throw yourselves heart and soul into your studies. It is only by dint of hard work and devotion of you to your studies that you can succeed in your mission and build this nation into a welfare state.”
Mr. Muhammad Ayaz Soomro, Minister for Law & Prisons, Government of Sindh & Chairman Board of Governors.
It is proud for me to mention that the PPP democratic Government has established “Shaheed Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto Law College, Memon Goth, Karachi” which started imparting education to the graduates’ aspirants to join the field of law.
I am confident that this college will keep its high standard of education and compete with other Law Colleges under an able guidance of its Principal Mr. Riaz Hussain Lund Advocate. It was my desire that there should be Law College at Malir so that the graduates of this area take legal education at their door steps which has been achieved. In this connection the Government of Sindh has been pleased to release Rs.20.00 Million as grant-in-aid for smooth functioning of this institution.
Shaheed Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto had esteemed devotion to Education. He used to render great emphasis to it. This is the reason that this college has been attributed with the name of “Shaheed Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto”.
Mohatarma Benazir Bhutto also was extremely attached and displayed her devotion with Law becoming lifetime member of many Bar Associations, such as Larkana District Bar Association, etc.
In the present PPP democratic Government, through the Law Department the number of bills related to education passed is much more in number that had been passed in the past history of Provincial Assembly Sindh.
In the country, there are three important professionals and technical institutions namely Law, Doctors and Engineering Institutions. The present regime of PPP democratic Government pays foremost importance to education.
I hope the students of this college will prove themselves to be best law graduates and severe.
May Allah Almighty ever flourish this institution.
Mr. Riaz Hussain Lund, Advocate High Court / Secretary of the Board.
